Lawn Care

At Lucky Lawn Service we’re aware of the many ways your lawn can be threatened by weeds, pests, and disease. Here in Alabama, we have four main types of grass: Bermuda, Zoysia, Centipede, and St. Augustine. We know the difference and we know each grass is unique and requires its own personalized treatment plan. That’s why we offer four different lawn care programs based on the type of lawn you have.

Centipede Grass

Bermuda Grass

St. Augustine Grass

Zoysia Grass

Bermuda/Zoysia Program

Application 1: A broadleaf weed control and a potassium-based winter fertilizer to promote root growth and increase the hardiness of your turf.

Application 2: A pre and post-emergent weed control are applied to control weeds before they germinate and create a barrier to keep weeds out. A spring fertilizer is also applied to rouse your grass from dormancy and encourage green-up.

Application 3: Contains a slow-release formulated fertilizer that continues to feed your turf with the proper nutrients until your next application. Broadleaf weed control will be spot sprayed where needed.

Application 4: We apply another slow-release fertilizer that will continue to feed your grass through the end of summer. This well-balanced fertilizer will provide the proper nutrition as well as bolster the overall health of your turf. Broadleaf weed control will be spot sprayed as needed.

Application 5: As we get into fall we will apply a fall fertilizer to help maintain the color of your lawn for the rest of the growing season. Another round of pre and post-emergent weed control will help repair any damage taken during the summer and re-build your weed barrier.

Application 6: During our last visit, we will apply a potassium-based winter fertilizer to stimulate root growth and prepare your turf for winter.

Centipede Program

Application 1: Contains winter fertilizer and broadleaf weed control. The winter fertilizer is potassium that will stimulate root growth and increase the winter hardiness of your turf.

Application 2: This is your lawn’s spring application of pre-emergent weed control, broadleaf weed control, and spring fertilizer. The pre-emergent is used to control weeds before they germinate. This will form a weed barrier. The fertilizer will stimulate growth and encourage green-up.

Application 3: Contains a slow release fertilizer that continues to feed your turf with the proper nutrients until your next application. Broadleaf weed control will be spot sprayed as needed.

Application 4: Pre-emergent weed control, fertilizer, iron, sulfur, and insecticide. The iron and sulfur will improve the color and health of the turf. The insecticide is to help with spittlebugs which cause us the most problems at this time of the year.

Application 5: This consists of pre and post-emergent weed control as well as a fall fertilizer. The weed control should help re-build and strengthen your barrier.

Application 6: During our last visit, we will apply a potassium-based winter fertilizer to stimulate root growth and prepare your turf for winter as well as a final broadleaf weed control.

The applications are delivered 6 to 8 weeks apart and specifically formulated to meet the needs of your turf as well as broadleaf weed control.

St. Augustine Program

We also offer a customized program for lawns composed of St. Augustine grass. Our lawn care professionals will make sure your St. Augustine lawn will get the nutrients it needs when it needs it. Our 6-Step program will boost the health of your turf and keep the weeds at bay so your St. Augustine grass can grow without competition.
